The health care industry in Germany is subject to constant change. Due to political changes and financial necessities, the legal health system has for years repeatedly been the subject of basic structural reforms, recently through the statutory health insurance (GKV) financing act and the pharmaceutical market restructuring act (Arzneimittelmarktneuordnungsgesetz) as well as very recently the GKV (Versorgungsstrukturgesetz – structure of medical care law). A regular adaptation of German health legislation also occurs in the context of requirements of the European Union, for instance regarding the German Drugs Act (Arzneimittelgesetz).

These regulatory changes cause a great need among market participants for advisory services regarding the adjustments required. LACORE here assists clients with legal know-how and industry expertise. The lawyers possess long-standing experience in the representation of interests of companies and trade associations in the health sector, for example as representatives in different appeals procedures vis-à-vis the European Commission on the subject of infringements of competition and regulations concerning pharmaceutical and pharmacy law.

Physicians and dentists regularly mandate LACORE regarding professional codes of conduct and legal matters concerning statutory health insurance physicians as well as concerning the contract design for group practices, associations for medical cooperation, and medical care centers. Also in this area, new economic and legal approaches are possible, e.g. in the context of the GKV-Versorgungsstärkungsgesetz, which came into effect in July 2015.
